Hansen Signs first opened its doors back in the early 70’s by Mr. Elmer Hansen along with his sons: Norman, Eldon, Jackie, Gary and Brian originally operated this family business.

Dennis Hansen at that time was a body man by trade, custom painting hot rods in the empty bay next door. In the Late 70’s, all of the family with the exception of Dennis moved out to western Canada. Dennis stayed behind to pursue his passion of operating his own business and took over this operation in 1979 as Hansen Sign Rentals and Installation.

The Hansen Signs that you know today began when Dennis, an entrepreneur in his own right, recognized that there was a need for more options for local businesses to advertise. He then started fabricating, importing and selling mobile signage around the Moncton area. With only a few employees working part-time along his side, one of which was his wife Darlene, this venture quickly grew into a hustling, full time operation including electric sign manufacturing and installation.

Knowing that he would need some extra hands on deck to propel the business even further in the right direction, Dennis brought on his oldest son Nick to give a hand. Having always been interested in the business throughout his time growing up watching his father and team, he knew the business had potential. Nick received a degree in Graphic Design and Marketing which helped him advance the company through the digital age which has since revolutionized the sign industry. Hansen Signs now has over 40 employees and has grown to become one of the largest Sign companies in Canada.
